About Peter Lefkowitz

Peter M. Lefkowitz, Esq.


Peter is a leading attorney and data protection executive who brings expertise in data strategy, privacy, security and risk management. He has extensive experience with for-profit and not-for-profit executive suites and boards of directors.


Peter has served throughout his career as the lead data protection executive at global technology companies. As Oracle’s Chief Privacy Officer, Peter developed a comprehensive program encompassing operations, products, marketing and M&A. As GE's Chief Privacy Officer, he oversaw privacy operations for a 400,000 person company operating 9 divisions in over 150 countries. And at Citrix, he was Chief Privacy & Digital Risk Officer and then Chief Security & Trust Officer, with a team of 180 and responsibility for product and system security and cyber incident command. Peter has engaged extensively with national cybersecurity agencies and privacy regulators and has advocated with EU and US legislators for balanced data protection regulation.


Peter is a member of the Board of Directors of the Future of Privacy Forum. He was the 2018 Chairman of the Board of the IAPP. Peter also served on the Boston Bar Association Council (2018-21) and on the Board of Advisors for TextIQ/Relativity (2018-23). Peter has taught privacy law at Boston College Law School, spoken extensively on privacy and security, and been published in The New York Times. 


Peter and his wife Lori have two children and live in Newton, Massachusetts. Peter is a member of the Board of Congregation Kehillath Israel (President: 2024-2026). He is a graduate of Yale College (History, magna cum laude) and Harvard Law School.
